Three levels of provision are offered and taught by well-qualified and experienced ESOL tutors.

Each course provides conversational English with progressively more reading, writting, grammar and numeracy as people move through the three levels.

 

Course 1.  ESOL Literacy and Numeracy Foundation Skills - Beginners

Days:  Tuesday & Thursday, 9.30-11.30 am

Driver Education Minimize

Course 8a & b.Learner Licence - Day and Evening courses

If you feel you need help to sit your Learner Licence or are driving without a licence, this course is designed for you. Class members will sit the test together at the end of the course. Fee:   $ 45.00   6 weeks course

 8a.  Starts:Term 3: Monday 16 August 12.30-2.30 pm

8b. Starts: Term 2: Tuesday, 25 May 6.30 – 8.30pm

Course 6.     Heavy Vehicle Theory (Class 2) Starts To Be Advised 

Do you want to drive a heavy vehicle but are put off by the theory test? The course will provide you with the information & skills to pass the test with ease.  

 Course 7a.  Pass the Restricted Licence Test  (Daytime or Evening)

A programme funded through the Road Safety Trust to assist people to obtain their restricted licence.The programme is made up of:

·One hour theory session when the first practical driving lesson is booked in.

·Up to two hours of practical driving tuition with a qualified, experienced driving instructor. Your driving will be assessed in the first lesson and a further driving lesson provided.

The course is open to people who have held a learner licence for 5 months or more, have some practical driving experience but would benefit from professional driving instruction.

Course 8.    Streettalk - Defence Driving

This time-reduction course will allow you to sit your full licence sooner.

4 theory sessions and 1 hour practical driving. Course includes a certificate on completion and can be done in conjunction with Unit Standards.

Starts:  17 May ;  26 July;  22 November 2010      

 Time:  6.30-8.30pm   Fee:$ 175.00

Personal Development Minimize

Course 10.  Practical Parenting with Miriam De Jong

Based on the P5 programme.  Explores parenting issues, make informed and responsible decisions about your children’s behaviour and enjoy parenting.

Term 2: Thursday, 13 May , 12.30-2.30 pm, 8 wks

Course 10a Esteem & Personal Development for Women

Course 11.  Being the Mother You Want to Be (daytime or evening)

For mothers concerned about their stress and anger and the risk of taking it out on their children. This supportive group will cover: the purpose of anger, tension build-up and early warning signs, reasonable beliefs and training for new ways of handling anger.

Day & Evening Class

Term 2: Starts:  Wednesday 12 May 7 -9.30 (Evening Class)                                                          Friday, 14 May 9.15-11.45 8wks(Daytime Class)

Fee: $40 (negotiable)

Safety, Health and Fitness Minimize

 Course 12.  First Aid for Home & Work Place

A two-day certificate course covering emergency First Aid, including scene assessment management, control of bleeding, shock, fractures and dislocations, soft tissue injuries, poisoning and CPR. Approved by OSH as the minimum qualification for the workplace

 Two-day workshop.

Term 2:  Monday 10 &17 May, 9.00-4.00 pm

Term 3: Monday 26 July & 2 August

Term 4: Monday 22 & 29 November

Course 13.  First Aid Refresher for Home & Work Place

For those who have completed the Workplace First Aid course , and are looking to renew their certificate. Current certificate to be no more than 27 months old.

Course 14.   Gentle Yoga

Enjoy gaining health of body and mind through gentle stretching exercises.Suitable for all ages.

Te Reo and Treaty of Waitangi Minimize

 

Course 18.   Treaty of Waitangi Workshop 

 

Do you want to learn more about the Treaty and be able to ask questions in a friendly non-threatening environment?

 If so you will enjoy this two day workshop that will cover:

 §  Historical background to the signing

§   The Treaty-preamble, the articles, similarities and differences between the Maori & English versions.

§ The history since 1840.

§ The impact of legislation and Government action

§ Reflection and implications of the Treaty on community groups and organisations.
